These adult salamanders are about 8 inches long on average, including their tails.  They may live in other places, but I’ve only seen them in ponds over 10,000 feet.  They have no visible gills, and don’t act like the juveniles I caught the previous day.  The adult salamanders climbed up the net I caught them with, and were comfortable popping their heads out of the water.
